Full Name: Lord Cyphel Ashstripe
*Nick Name(s): N/A
Gender: Male
Pronouns: He/Him/His
Age: Middle Aged (about 55 in human years)
Species: European Badger
Appearance: Cyphel is a Badger Lord that is getting on in years, evident by the greying fur on his face. He’s fairly tall and well built, which is to be expected after seasons of fighting and working in the forge. He has a few old scars from battles, which are mostly covered up by his long sleeve shirt, which has some embroidery done along the sleeves and bottom. He wears dark pants as well, and a belt with some pouches on it. He likes to carry sweets in there. When in battle he wears full heavy armor, but his helmet does not have a visor.
Personality: He’s moderately relaxed, and likes to keep himself busy. Cyphel’s got an eye for beauty, and likes to collect pretty rocks, or tapestries, and is working on making himself a set of armor for feasts that has a very intricate design. He’s got quite the sweet tooth as well, and always has little treats on him, which he also hands out to children or people he thinks deserves it. While he’s a good planner, he tends to make rash decisions once the stress builds up on him.
Allies: The Long Patrol, Redwall
Enemies: Vermin who disturb the peace. He also especially dislikes corsairs and pirates.
Strengths:
- Not afraid to try new or risky ideas
- Grew up in Mossflower so he knows the area well
- Decent negotiator
Weakness:
- He’s getting on in age and has less endurance
- An old injury to his left leg causes him to limp. It can get pretty bad.
- Cyphel can make rash decisions when frustrated.
*Goal: Protect Mossflower from those who would do great harm, and have a good rule as Badger Lord
Background: Cyphel grew up in Mossflower with his mother. He didn’t live at Redwall, but has been to the Abbey several times. He and his mother never really had a home, she would wander around with him and teach him survival skills. Which plants were edible, which ones weren’t, how to track vermin, and so on. He has some allies in the Mossflower area still, that are more old friends than anything else.
Once he was old enough, he found his calling as Badger Lord of Salamandastron, and moved in there with his mother, until she passed on. He’s spent his days keeping Mossflower and the western shores safe, though has rarely seen any major battles. He specializes in the glaive and spear, but cannot use any one handed weapons effectively.
He sustained a fairly serious injury to his left leg when he was about 26 in human years. It gives him a limp that has gotten worse as he's aged, and it slows him down if he uses it too much. A lot of the time he uses his mothers old cane to help him walk. He treats all the hares under his command with as much dignity and respect as they treat him with, and he would not ask them to do something he wouldn't do himself.
Weapons: Glaive, sometimes spear.
*Other things that may be important: He’s a homoromantic asexual, and does not currently have a partner. He’s always wanted someone to train to take his place, so he can retire back to Mossflower, as he is getting on in seasons.
