At first, the General paid no mind to the two hares approaching, the pain in his heart overwhelming him. All his life, he'd devoted himself to the Long Patrol, and now... now...
However, the moment the satchel of rations and bedroll were bestowed upon him, he clumsily took them in his arms, so confused that he didn't honestly understand what the meaning of it all was. Why were they giving him this? Was it to mock him for losing?
Looking up at Lord Lasair with a wide eye, the General's jaw dropped ever so slightly, the badger lord's chuckling making him twitch a bit. Was this real? Was this really happening? He was... they were letting him come?
Dropping the satchel and bedroll, and despite his aches and pains, the General rushed forward, reaching out to take Molan by the wrist. Despite their ages, and their rank, despite everything Ridgewell believed in, he couldn't help but grin before saying, "Thank you, sah. Thank you. I-I promise, you won't regret this."

"I'm sure I willnae, Ridgewell." The badger grinned back at the general. "But if yer late tae the march, ye may 'ave tae run to catch up!"
Inside the mountain, the hares bade their farewells and checked their packs, took last minute trips to the mess. Molan placed Sargent Imogen Elmwind in command of the remaining hares.
"Watch the vermin ships. Keep a few sentries in the vicinity at all times. I dinnae know how our collision with the vermin will end, but ye may have tae sabotage the ships. Await orders, an' keep the mountain safe."
"Aye, sah. Would ya do me a favor, sah?" The Sargent asked. "Bring them 'ares back to the mountain, an' wipe those bastards from the face o' the earth. We believe in ye, sah. The mountain will be 'ere when ye return."
"I'll try my very best tae do so, Elmwind."
Out on the sands, the hares waited. Molan stepped forward and addressed the company. "Today we leave tae follow the vermin that killed our hares, an' hopefully keep them from reachin' Redwall Abbey. We're up against a considerable force, an' not all o' ye will return. But we will, as Sargent Elmwood so eloquently put it, wipe those bastards from the face o' the earth, or die tryin'! EULAAAAAAAALIIIIIIIIIIIIIIAAAAAAAAAAA!"
"EULAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALIIIAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"
{this should probably be the last post on this thread. Bigwig, would you start a march thread with your next reply, and just comment here so that I can see that you've responded? Thank you! ::::3}
