Full Name: Garkul Forrus PoisonFang (formerly DemonFang)
Gender: Male
Age: Possibly late 40s
Species: Weasel
Appearance: Approximately a head taller than the average weasel. Completely white-furred, with a small patch of black at the tip of his tail and on his claws. His sharp long fangs have some potent venom, but made to paralyze rather than to kill. If dealt in large doses, then the resulting comatose state can possibly be fatal. Dark jade-green eyes, filled with malice and hatred. Very muscular, strong senses of smell and hearing. Garkul can usually be seen wearing hard steel armor with a soft leather hood attached, with holes cut out on top so his ears can stick out. A leather belt around his waist holds a steel longsword and a pair of daggers.
Personality: Although he is part of the vermin army, he is not in any way interested in becoming the Emperor. It’s just not appealing to him, and the weasel has his own selfish agenda anyway.
As far as personality is concerned, Garkul is a textbook narcissist: meaning that he cares only about himself and nothing else. He lacks empathy, and believes that he alone is the one to go after the Sandeyes. This guy enjoys taking advantage of others as a means to an end, and then disposing of them after said goal(s) is/are reached.
(There are many other traits that define narcissists, but they are too numerous to mention in this profile. Suffice it to say that he fits the bill perfectly, and everything applies.)
Allies: A narcissist doesn’t have allies!
Enemies: His main enemies are the Sandeyes, and basically anybeast who stands in his way of getting them. A guy like him makes tons of enemies, and it always starts with him thinking that his fellow vermin are beneath him.
Strengths: Sword and dagger expert. Agile and fast on his feet, despite his muscle. Exceptionally strong senses. This guy could be seen as a rival to Jared Sandeye, because he shares nearly every physical trait with the squirrel. Also a skilled strategist.
Weaknesses: Only concerned with himself and nothing else, which often gets him in the most trouble. For some strange reason, he really hates mushrooms. Despite his knack for strategy, he can be quite hot-headed at times. Completely clueless on how to use a bow.
Goal: Capture and kill the Sandeyes, at any cost and by any means necessary. Becoming the Emperor is neither important nor relevant. His main ambition is to put an end to the Sandeye bloodline, claiming that doing so “will the make the world better”.
Background: Little to nothing is known about Garkul’s past. Very few records exist, if at all. But his hatred of the Sandeye siblings began when they escaped his grasp once (just like what happened with Deathblade), just as he had made his plan to eliminate them. This happened a year after the siblings had first come to Redwall Abbey. Now, he is pursuing them again, hoping to avoid failure this time.
How he came to have his poison is a bit of a little-known story, one he really hates to talk about. During his last encounter with the Sandeyes, he and Jared got into a disagreement over some obscure conversational subject (Jared would tell you that they were arguing over who was better in paw-to-paw combat), and engaged in a rough scuffle. Jared got the upper hand pretty quickly and dealt a hard and painful jab to Garkul’s upper jaw, enough to dislocate it and also break off the sharp edges of his teeth. In his anger and embarrassment, Garkul left the Sandeyes alone in his underground base to go treat his wounds; the siblings took advantage of the free moment to escape.
Garkul got the idea for his poison from an unexpected incident that involved his crew turning against each other over a dwindling lack of supplies and food. One of his fellow weasels had a poison-tipped dagger, and stabbed a ferret with it, paralyzing the latter almost instantly. The ferret recovered, but Garkul, having witnessed the whole battle, was easily inspired. So, having a secret alchemical and botanist background, coerced the poison recipe out of his crew members, and gathered every single ingredient to try to replicate the dangerous mixture.
He was successful on his first try.
One of his “minions” was a skilled craftsbeast, and created special reservoirs made of hard glass for Garkul to hold the poison in; he puts them on his broken fangs, and despite being made of glass, don’t bother him at all. However, knowing that his paralyzing chemical was incredibly dangerous without an antidote, Garkul again mixed a powerful remedy and today keeps it in an invaluable hip flask that he holds on his person at ALL TIMES. Because the paralytic was not too potent, he only needs to drink it at least twice every day; sometimes thrice just because he likes the taste of it. Think grapes mixed with cranberries, with hints of cherries, daffodils, sunflowers, and chrysanthemums.
The poison is used only as a last resort, as he is already very smart in the uses of swords and daggers. If he encounters the Sandeyes again, and if Jared happens to beat him once again, then the poison will serve as a means of vengeance, and possibly total murder.
