I've been rereading the first Redwall book as of late, and I've fallen victim to the wonderful descriptions of food. Like I'm seriously dying to get me some shrimp n' hotroot soup.
So the question is, what kinds of food from Redwall would you all eat? Everything is not an acceptable answer, though tbh I'd try everything if I could.
Obviously Shrimp n' Hotroot soup is on my list. That one's actually in the Redwall Cookbook, which I am dying to get my hands on a copy of.
Skilly n' duff, though I'm not 100% sure on what it is, would be rather interesting I think.
I have never had a turnip in my life, but I'd eat some of that deeper n' ever pie before you could burr or hurr.
October Ale isn't out of the question either haha. I'm sure I'd be old enough in seasons to drink that.
Alternatively, if anyone has any recipes (Or the cookbook and wants to hmu with the Hotroot soup recipe) they are welcome to share too.

I'd also like to try the hotroot soup, and deeper-n-ever-turnip-n-tater-n-beetroot-pie. I imagine the hotroot soup to be something like spicy shrimp gumbo. However, I'd like to also try the pastries, and the different waybreads that they have, such as shrewbread, and other stuff. I'm not so interested in the October Ale though. I'd be glad to try any number of the teas and jams. My mom makes amazing oatmeal scones though, so I've had lots of scones.

Ever since I was a KID, I've begged my parents to help me make the recipe for the deeper n ever pie, oh my goodness, it was my DREAM to eat. It never happened, and now that I'm older, I definitely feel motivated to try it and do it by myself... I know it can't taste as good as I imagine it would, but for some reason that one particular dish has always made me so curious and the one I'd like to try the most.
As far as drinks go... how could you not say strawberry cordial? It sounds soooo good, gosh...

I've got the cookbook in my house actually! Granted I've only used it like, twice, but the food does actually taste really really good. I remember making Shrimp 'n Hotroot of course, and I remember it being delicious, seriously. There was another thing that was like a cauliflower sauce that wasn't really mentioned in the books? But that was still really good too. I'll try and get some recipies up when I'm home, but I'm sure they're all on the internet somewhere.
(Still sorta wanna see how chestnuts covered in sugar taste tho)

Um, everything? In all seriousness, I've always wanted to try hotroot soup, deeper 'n' ever pie, and Bernard bread when it comes to savory stuff. Oh, and Mem Divinia's hotcakes--rereading The Long Patrol, and those sound great. And then of course there's the scones and the candied chestnuts.... Candied chestnuts always sounded so good, oh my gosh. And there's October ale and strawberry cordial, though hot mint tea also sounds like it'd be great.

I can't believe I forgot candied chestnuts. I should learn how to make those. The holidays are coming up so there should be chestnuts in the store soon.

I've heard that chestnuts are extremely hard and don't taste very good? I'm not sure why. However I'm still curious if they are cooked right maybe they would be alright? *shrugs*
