Hey, guys. So, I got kinda inspired to make more time for drawing after seeing all the lovely art being posted lately. And I figured that it couldn't hurt to share something I'd recently drawn with you guys. In this case, that's a human version of my character Frederick, since I really haven't drawn animals. This was mostly to try and practice drawing some different expressions. It was actually pretty fun, and I rather like how he came out.

Thanks so much, guys! Y'all just made my day. I think I'm gonna keep using him to practice drawing stuff--different expressions, perspectives, poses, that kinda thing.

I've got another Frederick drawing. Sorry for the bad image quality; took this picture with my phone. Haven't drawn a lot of full-body poses lately, so this was a bit tricky. I'm not entirely sure about the pose, honestly... I rather like the way the nearer arm and the sword came out, though his far arm looks a bit wonky to me. I think I need to keep working on anatomy. Still, it was fun to try something new!

Anatomy is always really hard to learn! There are a lot of great references online that you could look up! Your art is coming along very nicely, if you'd ever like any advice or critiques I'd be more than happy to talk to you about art!

Got another Frederick drawing. The pose is pretty similar to the last one, admittedly... So, his outfit in this one is the result of looking up some older military uniforms to serve as references--specifically, Revolutionary War-era stuff. I rather like how it came out, honestly.

It came out well!! I love the uniform. You do a really nice job drawing legs/feet imo.

Thanks, Bigwig! I gotta admit, I'm rather fond of the uniform, too. The first one looked a bit...plain, I guess? I dunno, I think that actually looking up examples of military uniforms really helped.
And thanks, Margorr! I think legs and feet can be a little tough to draw sometimes, so I really appreciate that. I did have a lot of fun drawing the boots and the spats, haha.

I picked up an actual sketchbook today, and I decided it'd be fun to try a more action-y pose. Drawing this was a bit challenging, honestly, but it was surprisingly fun. On the whole, I'm pretty happy with how it came out.
