Full Name: Algernon Brookhaven Hunnisett
*Nick Name(s): Al, Alger
Gender: Male
Pronouns: he/his
Age: Young Adult (?) (in human years he'd be in his late twenties/early thirties)
Species: Hare
Appearance: Tall, broad shouldered, with mottled brown fur. He has dark flecks across his shoulders, back of his neck, and even a few across his snout giving the vague impression of having freckles. The tips of both his ears are black. His eyes are hazel colored and almost always half closed, giving him a natural sleepy or unimpressed expression. Typically seen wearing his uniform or something similar in style. Cuts an intimidating figure when viewed for the first time. Rarely ever smiles and when he does, it's usually barely noticeable.
Personality: Despite his serious appearance, Alger is incredibly fun-loving and relaxed. The only thing he takes seriously is his job and even then he can be a bit lax about it. When he's actually serious about something, be it when he's worried or sad or angry, he becomes very quiet. When he's angry it's easy to tell if you know him at all, he goes completely silent and simply fumes.
Allies: The hares and badgerlord of Salamandastron and the Abbey Dwellers at Redwall
Enemies: Vermin
Strengths: He's a strong, well-trained fighter with good sense; he can be optimistic in tough situations; he has the ultimate poker face, decent tracker.
Weakness: He can be easily misunderstood since his emotions aren't always visible; he can become very melodramatic when upset by something; he has a problem with getting tunnel vision when he's angry or irritated; his eyesight's not that great, it's not bad, but he won't be shooting any arrows any time soon.
*Goal: TBD, besides protecting innocent creatures from various threats of course.
Background: Algernon came from a very small family, his mother was a healer from outside the mountain that his father met one day on patrol. He gets most of his traits from her side of the family, especially the sleepy eyes. He has one older brother who decided to follow in their mother's pawsteps and became a wandering healer. Alger hasn't seen him since but occasionally gets letters from him about his adventures. Having grown up with a proud military father it was almost inevitable that one of the boys would become a warrior too (whether by nature or design), Alger fell neatly into the role. His father enjoyed talking up his position in the Long Patrol and how proud he had made his parents. Alger got quite sick of his father's bragging after a while and thus was more than delighted when he received a rank that surpassed his father's. His father however, while proud was also a bit mortified, because he was still serving at the time. After a season of this situation the elder Hunnisett retired, Alger and his father are still on friendly, if somewhat antagonistic terms.
*Quirks: His voice becomes more monotone when he's lying.
*Weapons: Sabers and his bare paws.
*Other things that may be important: He enjoys telling absolutely ridiculous tales and watching others try to figure out if it's true or not. Occasionally he gets so involved in one of his tall tales that he forgets that he's lying too. He is bisexual.
Bit late to the hare character party but here he is! Now I gotta figure out where I'm gonna sneak him in to...I'll see about finishing up that sketch of him soon. Done!
