Full Name: Novice Augustin
Nickname(s): Gus (common), Augie (rarely)
Gender: Male
Pronouns: he/him
Age: roughly equivalent to 17 human years
Species: Field Mouse
Appearance: Gus is not especially noteworthy for a field mouse. His fur is a light brown with a white chest and belly, while his eyes are a much darker chestnut brown. He’s only slightly shorter than average for a mouse, and not inclined to athletics. He first arrived in a clownish motley costume, but has taken quite happily to the Redwall uniform of green habit and sandals and can usually be found wearing them. Except outside in good weather, when he prefers to go bare pawed.
Personality: Though he is not averse to company or other beasts, Gus is a very quiet mouse. Well, with anyone he has just met. As he becomes more comfortable he comes out of his shell. He is an odd balance of wanting to take risks and try new things, but afraid of rejection. Because of his anxieties he prefers working with his paws most of the time.
Allies: Anyone of Redwall, or any goodbeast
Enemies: None yet
Strengths:
*Goal: To become a full brother of Redwall
Background: The young field mouse comes from a performing troupe from Mossflower, though he was born in Southsward. He has spent his life travelling with his extended family of performers (some of whom were not even mice, but considered honorary aunts, uncles, or cousins all the same.)
As he learned to speak, it quickly became apparent he had a stammer, especially prominent when he became old enough to perform. Growing up an entertainer, Gus learned skills like juggling and tumbling from a young age, and even a few musical instruments. So rather than try to overcome his impediment, he focused more on physical performing and clowning.
Gus has always grown up on the stories of the great heroes of Mossflower and elsewhere, having even performed in some reenactments of famous battles. So when the troupe recently arrived at Redwall to perform, Gus was pleasantly surprised by the quiet, peaceful lifestyle of the abbey. Though it was a difficult decision to remain behind, Gus eventually decided it was best for him. (Though many promises were extracted from his family to visit whenever they could.) He has joined Redwall as a novice.
*Quirks: TBD
*Weapons: None
