(( This is a thread for Lucerne and Merry. It is currently not open for other characters))
Things were not looking up for Lucerne. She sat alone near Margorr’s tent on the edge of the camp, leaning back against the tree he’d tied her to so she wouldn’t escape. She wouldn’t get very far if she tried anyway, there were a few guards patrolling the camp’s edge, one came by every few minutes and checked on her. Besides, she didn’t even know where in Mossflower they were. She’d never been up this way. The thing to do now was sit around and hope for the best. Margorr had gone off with Argrav and some of the others to go talk to the Abbey. She hoped that Redwall would be able to handle them. From what she knew of the Abbey, the creatures who lived there were of the gentle sort.
She watched Aldous trying out her sling a few yards away. Margorr and asked her to teach the kid how to use it. She had to admit he’d picked up on it fairly quickly. Stopping to pick up another stone to throw, the young otter caught Lucerne watching him, and waved. She waved back.
He was a little weird, but Lucerne was growing a soft spot for the otter. She wished he didn’t have to live here with all these vermin. At least he’s allowed free reign of the camp she thought, adjusting the collar on her neck so it rubbed her less. She’d have to talk to Margorr about better restraints when he got back. Maybe he wouldn’t hit her this time.
Sighing, she laid down on the ground and closed her eyes. A little nap couldn’t hurt. Who knows when the Parley group would return.
