Personality: Lawful Good alignment, normally very laid back, but is skilled with nearly every combat weapon, with the exception of slings, crossbows, and spears. Passionate and extremely protective of his family and friends.
Allies: Rudmir (last name unknown, otter), Larina Skyleaf (girlfriend), Madeline Sandeye (sister), Drunt (friend, otter), Divan (childhood friend)
Enemies: Nagrig Deathblade (corsair searat, deceased) and Zakrul Bloodeyes (Nagrig’s older brother, also a searat, alive and hunting the Sandeyes for an unknown reason).
Description: Jared has brown eyes, hence his name. His fur is a color blend of brown and red. He stands at average squirrel height, and is only slightly muscular. Jared's most common outfit consists of a light tan cloth shirt (over a stark white undershirt) cloth pants, and wicker sandals. Whip scars are visible on his back, but only when he is wearing no upper body clothing. Jared is also left-pawed.
Strengths: skilled with a sword, bow, and knife. Very fast on his feet, agile when treejumping. Genetically enhanced hearing, a physical trait unique only to him, with origins unknown. Also a prodigious pianist and singer, with a natural bass vocal range.
Weaknesses: A terrible cook. Often headstrong and not a very good strategist, although he is slowly learning to get better at it. Has a strong weakness to alcoholic beverages, as they can make him very sick.
Background: Jared Sandeye was born as the second child of three, in a fictional island far out on the Eastern Sea known as Maraul. He lived a peaceful life with his family, until at the age of 12, he and his siblings were forced to watch as their parents were brutally murdered by invading corsair searats. Traumatized and with their lives forever changed, the three left Maraul and sailed out to sea. But a terrible storm destroyed their raft, and caused them to wash up on the shores of Mossflower.
Edoran was killed by the same corsair searats, who had followed the Sandeyes from Maraul. Jared found him just before he died and was given a family heirloom: a medallion with the symbol of the brown eyes. Troubled, grief-stricken, and ultimately alone, Madeline and Jared spent two agonizing and dark years hiding in Mossflower Forest. They moved from foxhole to foxhole, struggling just to stay alive, trying to keep themselves completely hidden from their enemies.
How they stumbled upon Redwall Abbey was a matter of chance: the siblings were eventually captured by their nemesis, Nagrig Deathblade. They were taken to an underground den where they were kept prisoner. Jared, against his will, was stripped of his shirt and mercilessly whipped by Deathblade himself. But by some strange stroke of good luck, the loss of blood did not paralyze him. He recovered quickly, and the siblings set out to explore the den (since Nagrig had sealed the only way out). They discovered two other woodland creatures who had also been taken prisoner, and were set to be murdered by sunset.
The searats tried to be fast at their job, but Jared was faster, and rescued the prisoners (a squirrelmaid and an otter). The foursome broke out of the den and emerged into the sunlight, where they made introductions. The woodlanders led the Sandeyes to Redwall Abbey, and there they lived for two seasons, during which Jared courted the squirrelmaid, named Larina Skyleaf.

In this canon, the Sandeye siblings are residents of Redwall Abbey, but have left a few times to visit their homeland. Their experiences on this forum take place sometime after the two years in which they lived at said Abbey. While Nagrig is deceased (having passed away from old age), a new enemy will soon arise to antagonize the Sandeyes. It won’t be Zakrul Bloodeyes, as mentioned above…but somebeast completely different…

Description: Maddie shares her brother’s brown eyes, but stands a head shorter than him. She has a very petite body type, her brown body fur is cuddly and soft to the touch. Not very much muscle, but what she lacks in strength she makes up for in intellect. She loves dresses, skirts, and blouses: much to Jared’s confusion, she owns a small collection of these in various colors.
Strengths: A knowledgeable gardener, can often be found in the Abbey greenhouses tending to the plants, as well as the flowerbeds outside. A pianist and singer with an average alto range. She knows some albeit limited unarmed combat. Not as headstrong as her brother, often choosing to take things slow and plan carefully before rushing into something.
Weaknesses: As mentioned above, she has no weapons knowledge. She also has the same Eastern weakness to alcoholic beverages. Again, a pacifist and very opposed to combat and hostility.
Background: Madeline is the youngest of the three siblings. The Sandeyes lived in peace with their parents until the invasion of Nagrig Deathblade and said parents’ murders. After Edoran’s murder in Mossflower, Maddie was forced to endure living in the forest, alone, helpless, cold, and afraid. When Nagrig finally captured the siblings, Jared was tortured while Maddie was forced to watch. She stayed out of the whole plan of freeing Larina and Drunt.
Redwall Abbey has become a second home of sorts to her. She and Larina are like sisters to each other, and is supportive of her court with Jared. As a tease, she often pressures her brother to propose to Larina, but he always tells her that the time just doesn’t seem right yet. Everything pretty much remains the same in Warriors canon. Maddie lives with her brother at Redwall Abbey, and will be part of many adventures.
