"Oh don't worry I will!" Ginger went into the pantry and took what she thought was an adequate supply for the fox. A couple pasties here, some apples there, a pastrie or two, and a beaker of water and pear cordial. When she was happy with her load size, not to big and plentiful, she slung the pack over her back and waved goodbye to the two mice and the hare cook.
Stopping momentarily at the dormitories to grab her lance and to check that she had enough stones for her sling, Ginger quietly went down the stairs and out one of the abbeys back doors.
Once outside and in Mossflower woods, she started to quietly call out for the fox. "Baro? Baro, where are you?"

The fox's head appears over a bush next to a tree. "Giiiiinger. Welcome back! I was beging to fear the worst you were gone so l-" Baro pauses, eyes going wide and dialated, "Is...is that /food/?" the beast wags his tail.

She adjusted the pack. "Yep, a sachel full of Redwall Abbeys finest food and then some. Anything your little foxy woxy heart could desire is aaalllllll in here." She began to lead him away from the abbey. "But, if you want to get to it, you'll have to join me on a little walk."

The fox's tale stops wagging as he takes in what the hare says. "Oh? I mean, sure!" walking away from the fortress of Vermin death and dismemberment seems like a good idea for his health.
"What did you get? I smell pastries?" the fox tries to move around the hare and rifle through the pack as she carries it.

Ginger lightly pushes him away, wagging her finger. "Now, don't get greedy. You can have some food after we get farther away from redwall and the wildcats horde."

Visibly pouting the fox resigns himself to just following for now, feeling like a pet being led into the woods to be released.
Which he was perfectly ok with if it ment he was getting food.
"I suppose it would be best to avoid the latter. I'm afraid the only job I would be fit for in a horde is being stew." he shrugs, "So you really live in an abbey? So how I just don't figure you being a sisterly type. No offense."
---
Poking his head out the gate Barley looks left and looks right before his eyes focus on the guards outside.
"Hey, I heard there was some commotion outside with some weasels. Everything ok?"
"Has the invasion begun yet?" says otis beside him.
"Oatis otis otis, don't worry your little mind, if there was an invasion you would know." Barley then laughs nervously, "Right?"
"Nooe. No invasion. Sorry to dissapoint," the otter dusts off some lint from his tunic, "Just some wayward bounty hunters. They were looking for some criminal fox named B-"
"FOX!" Oatis shouts, eyes wide with his paws to his head. His whiskers even stand strait out at the mention of the fox. "FOX! FOX! FOX!" he shouts rushing into the abbey to hide under his bed.
"Ah blazes," Barley sighs, "He's is going to be like that for hours...thanks." shaking his head Barley begins moving slowly for the abbey where the sound of "FOX!" can still be heard.

Ginger chuckled a little.
"I couldn't picture myself being a sister either. My brother and I left our holt some seasons back and have traveled all over. From the sands of Salamandastron to the gates of Southsward. This is only our second time at Redwall and, while it really is a grand place, we could never settle down there. Or at least, not while we're so young."
She turned around, facing the fox but without stopping her trek.
"What about you? What's your story?"

Chuckling the fox replies as he walks, "Story? You make it sound like I were some kind of book to be open and read. I have no story. I'm just a rascally woodland fox out to see the world, take in all the sights, and taste the local food."
Baro licks his chops as he reaches once more for the bag, "Where are we going by the way?"

"Well rascally fox or not, everyone has a story to tell. I just told one, now what about yours?" "And we're just going until the end of the woods; towards the plains. You can be on your way over there."

The fox barks out a laugh, "That's just fine with me. The soon we get to the plains the soon I get to cook this fine example of a-"
SWOOSH!
THUNK!
Baro let's out the most paniced scream as an arrow sails through the air, striking the wood pidgeon from his paw and pinning it to a tree. He falls to the ground, the scrambles to get behind Ginger, all the while screaming in unearthly fright.
"Oi! What's all that racket now?" comes a voice from beyond the bushes. A beast appears, an otter of creemy brown fur. She is a little taller than the hare and a little more well fed. She wears a wide brimmed hat over her head with a feather plume. She wears a sleeveless leather vest that leaves her midriff bare and a pair of loose fitting trousers among other varrious belts full of supplies and knives.
She also carries a bow, her quiver hanging from her hip rather than her back along with a serrated rapier.
"Oh!" says the otter, "Hello there! Didn't see you lot there."
The fox only replies sith more screaming.

The hare's fur bristled up a little after hearing Baro scream and scramble behind her. Ginger held her lance at the ready for whatever beast was to appear but relaxed when she saw the otter; she appeared to be friendly.
"Same to you, friend. What's your name?"

Pushing her hat up with the tip of her bow the otter smiles, "M'names Kacy. Ya seems to have something that belongs ta me."
"Lies and slander! I never robbed an otter in my life!" the fox blurts out without warning. "N-not that I would...oh! You mean the wood pidgeon! Hey! If you want the bird, feel free to take it!"
"Actually I ment yer hide fox." Kacy replies, turning to the hare, "I caught this tod fair and square with my snare an then you just up and let him go! Not nice to steal another's fox hide don'tcha know?"

Ginger looked at the fox cowering behind her. She steps aside, exposing him a bit more.
"What did you steal?!" she says, moving towards the otter a little while facing the fox.
Before he could retaliate, she takes the pack off her back and holds it tauntingly in front of him.
"Perhaps you don't deserve any of this?"

The fox let's out a pained gasp, "MeeeEEEeeEE? I didn't steal anything! I swear!"
The otter looks between the two and then begins to chuckle. Free paw pm her forehead Kacy gives a deep belly laugh, "Oh no no no, my find cotton tailed friend. The fox did not steal anything from me. /You/ did."
Kacy reaches for an arrow from her quiver, "It took me several hours to bait and set that snar, and when it finally catches a fox with a hide worth making into a coat, some BUNNY comes along and sets him free...I don't take kindly to that..."
The otter smiles as she notches her bow."

Ginger, staying calm, holds her paws in front of her. "Kacy, please. I know you wouldn't hurt another woodlander like me. You can have him back and I'll never speak of this again."
