The fox nods his head, "That's right! You tell her Ginger!" Baro pauses. Eyes wide with fear he turns to her, "Wait, what? N-no! You cant...y-you wouldnt? You are going to leave me to....to....to diiieeee?"
This promps the otter to chuckle, "Oh, that face. They always make this scrunched up, wide eye look right before they realize its the end. It's so adorable." She shoos the rabbit away, "Hop along deary, you're good. As for you foxy my dear, you are /perfect/. You will make a very pretty coat..." she takes a step forward towards Baro...

Ginger pipes up.
"Why? Who would want to buy another beasts fur? Woodlanders use cotton and flax to make clothes...would you be selling it to some other vermin?"

This only causes the otter to cackle in laughter, "Oh bless yer heart. Woodlanders only...ha! You probibly think all badgers are good beasts too." Kacy takes the arrow out of her bow, thrusting it at Baro until its resting against his chest.
The fox whines as he backs his way against a tree, "Giiiiiingeeeeer." he whines.
"And here I thought little miss fluff tail was leading you out here to be murdered...turns out she actually cut you down out of the goodness of her merry heart." Arrow still jabbing at Baro's chest Kacy turns to the hare, "Of course I'm selling his hide to vermin, woodlanders too! Fox hide is warm, and sylish, and now with rumors of a horde coming to mossflower /plentifull/. Not to mention it's so /fluffy/. Speaking of fluff, do you want the arrow in the heart or in the gut mr. Foxy kins?"
"Neither!" the fox lets out a pathetic whine.
"Ah...I see...so knife it is..." the otter shrugs.

Ginger's mind was racing.
What do I do? All I wanted to do was tease this fox a little then send him on his way away from Redwall. NOW look at what we've gotten ourselves into. Or rather...myself. Maybe Oatis was right...he probably would have been more trouble down the line. And that means more trouble for me.... I must have stayed at Redwall too long; I'm going softer than usual!

The fox would have gladdly prefured teasing, gladly. "Before we get too far into the whole 'kill the fox for his hide' thing..." Baro tries to push the arrow away from his chest with a claw, "I would like to mention that I am very insulted at the idea. Insulted that you would sell me off to some vermin like I am some common every day fox. I'll have you know that I am a fine example of a vulpine who has taken good care of his health and deserves to be made into a coat only for the most worthy!"
Baro side steps around the otter, placing a paw on her shoulder, "Imagine, a fox hide shawl across your shoulders, or even a cape to show off your foxy hunting skills to all who would see you."
This is by far the most awkward conversation Baro has ever had but when Kacy doesn't immidietly reply he continues, "But no matter how fancy my hide would look it is nothing to be comparred with a /hare/ lined vest."
The fox steps closer to Ginger, "Behold! This beast here is in her prime! What a fine vest she would make! Have you ever seen a hare with a finer coat?"
The fox gives the hare a 'look' to suggest that he has a plan, whether or not that plan saves both of them or just Baro has yet to be seen...

The hare rolled her eyes but held out her arms and turned so both beasts could see her coat. She did like her coat very much; a light tan coated her body mainly but the rich ginger markings, for which she was named, were the icing on the cake. The markings on her legs and ears could act as a nice little touch of someone were to skin her. She did a little spin, feeling just a little bit smug.

The otter stares at them both, rubbing her eyes, "You're...mocking me...arn't you?"
The fox, who was already stunned at the hare going along with his rediculous plan to throw Ginger under the wagon, turns to Kacy with a gasp. "Me? Mock you? Nah, I'm just offering advice to help you! Sage advice like, don't take your eyes off the person you want to shoot..."
It's not clear where the fox get's the paw full of dirt, just that when he extends his paw he throws a rather large lump of earth at the otter, hitting her square in the eyes. Kacy let's out a paniced growl as she is blinded, instinctivly firing the arrow in paw nearly taking off Baro's head in the process.
He yelps as the arrow flies between his ears then tries to flee from the otter, not stopping to see if Ginger is with him or staying behind to fight her...or be made into a vest.

To her own surprise, Gingers hand whipped down to her sling. She whipped it out, picked up a nearby stone, and flung it hard at the running fox. It landed smack between his ears, causing him to fall with a thud.
"The Redwall life has made me softer than usual." She chuckled quietly

It's hard to say who is more surprised by this turn of events, the fox or the otter. After she wipes her eyes clean Kacy is surprised to see the hqre still here as opposed to running for her life after Baro's distraction.
She glances at Baro laying unconcious face first in the dirt and the to the hare's sling. "Gel, you are one kind of crazy..." she says it like it's a compliment. "Uh, thanks...I think. Poor beast didn't know what hit him. What made you shoot him instead of me?" kacy leans to one side, free paw on her hips instead of reaching for another arrow.

"I realized that I've been going soft; playing dumb isn't always my forte but it's funny to see how different beasts react. Besides, that fox left me for dead. It's not like he was going to get away with it."
Hanging her sling back on her belt, Ginger smiled at Kacy and motioned to the haversack on her back.
"Well looks like I packed a larger than usual haversack for nothing. Unless you'd like to join me for a spot of lunch?"

The otter chatters in laughter. "Oh! I just keep liking you better and better lass! You come from the direction of the big abbey? Oi! Now there is a place that will make you soft."
The otter trots to the fox who still lays unconcious. She peers at him for a moment then sighs, "Just doesn't feel right to kill him off like this, ya know?" she sets the bow against a tree to draw a length of rope from her waist. She smiles as she begins to bind his paws behind his back, "It will be funner to watch his reaction when he wakes up though...and lunch sounds /great/."

Ginger laughs and starts taking various pieces of wrapped food and putting them out of the ground.
"I can't wait. But yeah, Redwall Abbey is great and all but it'll make a traveler like me soft. But no beast can deny that they don't have great food and great beasts making it."
With that, she uncorks a flask of pear cordial and pours some into her mouth.

Finishing her work on the fox's fore paws, binding them behind Baro's back, Kacy glances over her shoulder, licking her lips at the wine and food.
"Well arn't you a generous beasty. First you help me catch my wayward fox and then you go and share yer food as well!" the otter sits, crosslegged, across from the hare, "Mind passing me some of that wine as well? Day like this calls for celebration!"
Behind her Baro quietly stirs, letting loose a soft moan.

Passing the wine, Ginger unwraps a pastie and starts to dig in. Wrapped up in the beautiful combination of potatos, leeks, and carrots, she almost didn't hear Baro stir. Almost. She motions to Kacy as she swallows her mouthful of food.
"What shall we do about him?"

The fox whines as he rolls onto his rump, the massive head ache hurts less than the site of the hare helping his would be killer. He gives the hare a lost forlorn look. His plan to distract the otter and flee has backfired. Oh how it has backfired
"WeeeEEeell, I'm not a cruel beast," says Kacy as she draws a large curved hunting knife, "I was planning on sticking this in his belly..." the otter makes an examplotory thrust into an imaginary fox gut and Baro whines again, "Then after I spill his squiggly bits I'll take his hide and tan it. Then sell it to the highest bidder," the fox whines even more. He looks woozy and about to faint and not just from the blow to the head.
